So, as time and
travels have found me, here I sit in a hotel room in Atlanta. Just got it a few minutes ago, thanked God
for safe travels thus far, and asked His blessing upon the trip. I found a bag of popcorn in my room, and thus
decided to pop it in what is the oldest microwave I think I've ever seen. It has dials, and no popcorn button… so using
my engineering talents, I overcame all obstacles, read the directions, and
didn't burn the popcorn, but I suspect there are many duds..
Anyway. Now I sit
here to reflect on the day. How amazing
that just this morning I was having breakfast in apartment 9, helping Troy and
Ti move out. Saying goodbye's, taking finals. Already Purdue seems like a semi-distant
world. Let alone what tomorrow is going
to bring. I am so excited for this
opportunity to seek out God in Haiti.
Already I am soaking up a little bit of time to myself to implore God to
keep His guiding hand on me.
Indy airport was
pretty calm. I was able to fly through
the bag check and security, and be on my way after a nice dinner with Mom and
Dad. I got the gate in plenty of time,
read a bit of my book (thanks to Ti I had to go and buy the Ted Dekker Circle
series). And boarded the plane. My seat
was 35B. So as I boarded, I started
walking, and walking and walking to the back of the bus… plane… and then I saw them. Two large men between whom I, a large man was
going to sit. So yeah it was a bit
tight, but we got through. Apparently
the only thing you can see out of the windows that far back is the
engines. So as long as they stayed on,
we didn't have much of a view. Things
turned out fine, I napped a bit, read a bit, prayed a bit and ultimately landed
without a hitch.
Perhaps the most
concerning part of the whole trip was finding the right airport shuttle. Everyone had a shuttle, where was ours? After waiting 10-15 mins or so I finally saw
it and got on and ended up safe and sound here.
So now I have to meet up with the rest of my party. I haven't called Rick yet, decided to settle
in a bit before meeting up with them.
Today's prayer:
Father, Thank you so
much for safe travels. Thank you for
this opportunity you have laid before me.
Please bless my relationship with this team, and these missionaries that
we could be an encouragement to each other, and that we could bond together as
a cohesive unit. May your love be known,
Father. Although I don't know what you
have in store for me through this next month, I rest assured in the knowledge
that you are working. Father please
guide me, and teach me, and renew this feeble mind. Take this life father, my weak and broken
heart and use it for thy glory. Grant me
grace father, through your Son Jesus.
Give me strength and peace. As I
seek you lord, please do not be distant.
Please Lord reveal yourself to me.
I love you lord and I thank you.
Holy Spirit, please add to this prayer.
In Jesus' Name. Amen
Stu...love your prayer man. Stay strong out there and never give up on the hope that God is using you so mightily. Keep on keeping on! Troy
