So tonight, I pause
on our patio listening to the crickets and the tree frogs booping and popping
out in the trees. I just can't get over
how beautiful it is here. Every once in
a while I will get a glimpse of the countryside off the side of the mountain,
or I will look up into the palm trees, and just wonder… how long will it be
till I get hit on the head by a falling coconut. Not really.
But the thought did cross my mind, and it is really beautiful here.
So today we got to
work. Our team was fairly well organized
from our conversations last night, and with just a little grinding of the gears
we got the project kicked off. My duty,
especially in the morning was that of gopher.
Daryl really wanted me to be familiar with where things were at, so I
did a lot of running around and collecting tools and supplies with their John
Deere Gator. As the different teams got
settled in, I was able to start jumping into projects and help out there. I have been trying to keep up with where
people are ending up, since after they leave I will likely have a large part in
finishing up the parts they don't get to, so I want to be informed with the
plans and such. Some of the projects
included pulling wire and wiring switches and outlets, Dad and Trent, you would
be proud.
It was a pretty big
day, so far weather has been really
nice. Humid for sure, but reasonably
comfortable. Still getting used to the
cold showers, but the second wasn't as bad as the first. So when I get home I may never take a hot
shower again… ok that's a lie, but I think I'll get used to it.
Daryl shared his
story tonight about how they were called down.
I'm not going to go into it, because I would not be able to do it any
justice. But it is always neat when you
can see God's hand working so explicitly.
It gave me courage that God will guide me in my walk with Him. That His Will will be made clear to me when
the timing is right. God has things in
store, and I'm excited to see how they work out.
Today's Prayer:
God, I come before
you thankful again father. Thankful for
the ability to work, and to serve you. Thank you Lord for redeeming my soul.
Thank you Lord for leading me. Your name
is Holy and Awesome. May all the praise
go to you. Lord please continue to provide physical strength throughout the
duration of my stay, and wisdom and direction in my life. Thank you for giving me peace Lord. May my life be a vessel for you. Please continue to open my heart to those
around me, and rely on the strength you have granted me. Thank you, and praise you. Amen.
