So I have about 10 minutes before I have to leave for my physics lab, so I thought I would give a slight update.
First of all, my background picture is one that I took on campus yesterday. I actually was able to take a breif nap in the grass of the engineering mall while listening to a dramatized reading of the bible. As I was lying there in the warm sunlight, I was impressed at how cool the fountain and bell tower looked from this angle and with the trees and stuff. (you may notice there's no water going from the fountain anymore since it's starting to get pretty chilly). So, like a tourist, I started taking pictures of the scenery. The picture that I posted was my favorite. After some very basic enhancement, and a lot more cropping than I wanted to do to get it down to size, I got it up.
Anyways, I just replied to an email from Chrysler about a possible internship opportunity in Supply Chain Management! I sent some times that I would be available for a phone interview, and am now waiting on a response. A brother from church, Lucas Frank works there and has been in contact with the PYG through Andre Gutwein, who interned there last summer, to find more interns. It is looking like something that I would be interested in, and if nothing else will give me more interview experience again.
Recently I went to Purdue's Industrial Roundtable and handed out about 17 resumes and applied online for several companies. So far I haven't heard anything back from anyone. It's frustrating, because I feel like I have good experience listed, but also understandable because my GPA is horrible right now. It's sitting at about a 2.1 because I bombed my first two semesters. But, as I mentioned earlier, switching majors should play a big role in getting that back up. I figured out that if I get straight A's this semester, then retake a few classes I can get up to a 2.8. So I'm working hard this semester, so we'll see how this all pans out.
One thing I know, is that somehow it will work out. God has a planned worked out, so now comes the task of decifering that plan and trying to find that path. When people give advice it's easy. Just trust God and It will all work out. Yes, ok I get that, I've told people that before. However, trusting God that it will work out doesn't mean that I can sit back and not be proactive about finding opportunities. And as I'm being proactive, trying to walk according to whatever God has laid out for me. And figuring out what I should or should not be pursuing right now.
But I have to leave for class, I now have 2 minutes.... oops
